The Thurston County REALTORS® Association has endorsed their choices for Thurston County Commission in the November 8 general election.
In District 2, there were only two candidates running, and Gary Edwards and Kelsey Hulse will both continue to the November ballot. Edwards received 59.5% to Hulse’s 40.5%.
In District 1, the situation was much more competitive, with 5 candidates competing to be one of the top two that would go on to the general election. Olympia City Council member Jim Cooper received 34.8%. The race for the second ballot slot was extremely close, and John Hutchings narrowly defeated Alan Miller by 45 votes, finishing with 19.1%.
The Thurston County REALTORS® Association recently announced the endorsement of John Hutchings and Gary Edwards in their contested races for positions on the Thurston County Board of County Commissioners. In making the announcement, Thurston County REALTORS® Association President, Jerry Wilkins, applauded these two candidates for their commitment to the interests of Thurston County homeowners. They demonstrated through an interview process that they understand the issues of concern to the real estate community, homebuyers, sellers and property owners in Thurston County. Each of these candidates shares a strong commitment to ensure an excellent quality of life in Thurston County.
We are proud to be co-sponsoring a BBQ meet-and-greet with John “Hutch” Hutchings in downtown Rochester on Sept. 17, at the Dream Weavers Real Estate office. Please spread the word, and save the date!
